Despite being not at all over-the-hill, Mel has decided to call time on her active service as football superhero and has hung up her boots, mainly to spend time with her family and support her budding superhero son. We thank her for all she has done for the club (and for her previous clubs, from which some of us hail), for helping many players along the way, and for, well, just being Mel. We'll miss you!!

The first team return to winning ways with a 2-0 win vs Wycombe and a great performance, and the Reserves reach the Thames Valley Plate final! - They win emphatically 6-1, with a hat-trick for Emma Hester and goals from Jessica Champion, Jane Woolley and Gemma Brown (her first goal for the club). SEMI FINALS FOR BOTH SLOUGH TEAMS

In Decemeber, Slough's 1st Team came through a hard fought match against Reading Royals to win a place in the Berks & Bucks County Cup semi-finals, where they will face Woodley Saints on 17th February. Today the Reserves beat Olney convincingly to reach the semi-final stage of the Thames Valley County League's Plate Competition. Well done and good luck to both teams in their respective semi-final matches.

Two players netted hat-tricks this weekend when the Reserves faced Wycombe Reserves at home on Sunday. Lyndsey Goth and Jess Champion bagged six between them, with Nicola Attrell scoring twice and Jane Woolley once in an entertaining 9-3 victory.

COACHING & MANAGEMENT 2007/08

This season, Ian Smith will start his first full season as 1st Team Manager and club coach at Slough LFC. Ian is a Level 3 (UEFA B Licence) coach with a wealth of coaching and management experience. Slough LFC Reserves will be managed by coach Luke Kennedy, who takes full charge of the team this season having been Assistant Manager last season. Luke is a FA Level 2 coach who is looking to develop a promising young side. Much valued coach, Mark Hill, will continue in his coaching role with the club on Thursday evenings. Mark, who has been with the club for a number of years, is a former professional with QPR, Brentford and Wycombe Wanderers and a former Slough Town FC captain.
